Roy L. Huckabay Jr.

With 30 years of experience at the Linn Group, Roy Huckabay is a principle of the firm and part of the management team, overseeing much of the company's day to day operations. He oversees market research for all of the Linn Group's commodity sectors, authoring the daily grain fundamental wires. You can access some of his daily verbal reports on the Linn Group FuturesLine.

After an extended tour of duty with the U.S. Air Force, Roy worked with the Andersons in Maumee, Ohio, managing their grain buying office and gaining vital experience in basis and cash grain trade. A member of the CBOT for more than 10 years, Roy has handled all types of orders on the CBOT grain floor, although he now finds it more comfortable to juggle two phones at once in an office away from the floor as more of the trade has gone to the electronic platforms.

Roy's trade is concentrated in commercial hedge operations for exporters and feed manufacturers. An active fund execution trade has also developed over the last five years. He also provides consultations on farmer marketing while continuing to focus on risk control and option pricing alternatives within the Linn Group consulting team.

Roy resides with his wife Jeri at "Huck's Landing" in a Northwest Chicago suburb located on the Fox River, where he enjoys boating, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. His gardens are extensive.
